Product Description

API Petroleum Casing

The API standard for petroleum casing, API 5L, is established by the American Petroleum Institute. This standard is widely used for exporting petroleum casings, hence the name API petroleum casing. According to material classification, the main types of petroleum casings are K55, J55, N80, and P110. The threading types most commonly used are short round threads (STC), long round threads (LTC), and partial trapezoidal threads (BTC). Additionally, there are specialized threads like airtight and threaded buckles. The primary production base for API oil casings is in North China. These casings can be either seamless or welded pipes, with seamless pipes being more expensive due to superior mechanical properties over ordinary carbon steel pipes. Seamless pipes are especially favored for their enhanced performance in oil drilling. The major markets for petroleum casings include Southeast Asia, East Asia, the Middle East, West Asia, and Latin America.
