API Petroleum Casing

The standard of API petroleum casing is API 5L, established by the American Petroleum Institute. These standards are the foundation for general petroleum casing export criteria, hence the term API petroleum casing. API petroleum casing comes in various materials, primarily K55, J55, N80, and P110. The casing threads include short round buckles (STC), long round buckles (LTC), and partial trapezoidal buckles (BTC)—the most crucial and common types. Additionally, specialized buckles like airtight and threaded buckles are available. The main production hubs for API oil casing are in North China. Oil casing can be classified into seamless and welded pipes, with seamless pipes being more expensive. The material used for petroleum casing offers superior mechanical properties compared to ordinary carbon steel pipes, making it indispensable in oil drilling. Major customers are in Southeast Asia, East Asia, the Middle East, West Asia, and Latin America.
